Local students on Hollins Dean’s List
Local students named to the Hollins University Spring 2021 Dean’s List included Paula Bryant, Isabella Jessee, Melody Robinson and Lisa Shackleford, all of Roanoke; Lindsey Wiegand and Anna Kryder, bothof fincastle; and Emily Williamson of Blue Ridge.
To attain this distinction, students must earn at least a 3.5 average on a 4.0 grading scale.
Shumate on Radford Dean’s List
Leah Mackenzie Shumate of Daleville has ben named to the Spring Semester Dean’s List at Radford University. To obtain this distinction, students must earn a 3.4 average on RU’s 4.0 grading scale.
Shumate is a 2020 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and is pursuing a Criminal Justice major at Radford.
Scholarship recipients at The Glebe
LifeSpire of Virginia and the Virginia Baptist Homes (VBH) Foundation have announced the 2021 scholarship recipients. A total of $22,000 was awarded to 22 deserving individuals in Virginia.
The scholarships are funded by the Employee Education Fund. The fund provides financial assistance for deserving team members to obtain higher education, as well as updated training and specialized skillsets.
Associates at The Glebe in Daleville who received scholarships and their departments were:
Brennan Corell, Hazel Haggerty, Sophie Rakes and Cody Hatter (grandson of Joyce Horton) in Culinary Services; Allison Martin, Programming; and Christopher Hall (son of Cheryl Hall), Nursing.
Local students graduate from Shenandoah
During Shenandoah University’s annual May commencement ceremonies, more than 1,200 graduates received their diploma.
These local students graduated in May 2021, December 2020, and August 2020: Cody Dean and Emalee Black, both of Fincastle; Curtis Hedrick from Daleville; and Taylor Lanning of Troutville.
