Caldwell named to SNHU Dean’s List
Amber Caldwell of Troutville has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2021 Dean’s List. The winter term runs from January to May. Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean’s List.
Mott earns master’s degree
Kristen Mott of Roanoke was among more than 500 students receiving master’s and doctoral degrees at an in-person commencement ceremony on May 22 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Degrees were conferred to graduates who had completed their academic degree requirements in August and December of 2020, as well as January and May of 2021.
Mott earned a Master of Science Degree in Finance from The University of Scranton.
Smith named All-American by Cross-Examination Debate Assoc.
The Cross-Examination Debate Association named Aubree Smith of Roanoke an All-American this spring.
Smith, a senior majoring in intelligence analysis at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, was one of 30 competitors nationwide named All-Americans in recognition of their excellence in competition.
Smith was also named a National Debate Scholar, which is equivalent to being an academic All-American. Smith was named a Magna Cum Laude recipient.
The JMU Debate Team is a program of the School of Communication Studies and the College of Arts and Letters at James Madison University dedicated to providing a forum for civic dialogue and promoting intercollegiate debate competition. The JMU Debate Team is a multi-year recipient of the National Public Debate Award.
Local students on SNHU President’s List
The following local students were named to the Winter Dean’s List at Southern New Hampshire University: Macayla Lindy of Blue Ridge, and Roger Flinchum, Sandra Coan, Meredith Anastasia, James Barnett and Megan Cooke, all of Roanoke. The winter term runs from January to May. Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.70 and above are named to the President’s List.
