The Three Rivers District has announced All-District teams for spring sports and James River is well represented.
River had one district “Player of the Year,” Morgan Marshall in girls soccer. She was joined on the first team by Kayla Myers, Rachael Hix and Sofia Kryder. Ella Wright, Myla Lester, Natalie Hughes and Haley Meadows all made the second team from James River.
In boys soccer, Chase Cuddy was first team at forward, Justin Hill made it a midfield and Isaac Bell was first team on defense. Second team honors went to Craig Bowyer at forward, Chase Powell and Elias Wentworth at midfield and Evan Akers on defense.
The James River softball team had four first team selections, three of whom are underclassmen. Senior Lacey Lucado made it as an infielder along with sophomore Austyn Moran at pitcher, sophomore Jenna Pugh in the outfield and freshman Elly Lackey in the infield. Senior Ainsley Simmons was second team at outfield/pitcher and Lexi McCullough, a sophomore, was named second team infield.
In baseball, senior Jake Braun was selected to the first team as a designated hitter. Second team honors went to Gabe Sebastino at shortstop, Kahlique White in the outfield, Dakota Thomas at third base and Austin Thomas at pitcher.
