For the second year in a row, American Legion Post 240, Daleville, has assisted with the needs of students at Craig County High School.
Carrie Hutton, who for 20 years has served as secretary/athletic coordinator for the high school, is also in charge of gathering donations to assist in the needs of the students. The Post’s recent donation enabled her to purchase winter coats for the most needy students and also be able to prepare food boxes that the students take home for weekend meals during the school year. These food boxes contain boxed cereals, canned and fresh fruit, canned and fresh vegetables, peanut butter, bread and other assorted items.
Hutton also receives assistance from a local church and Craig County Social Services for this project.
