The American Red Cross of Roanoke and American Legion Post 240 conducted a blood collection event on Thursday, March 25. This was the first time for the Post to sponsor such an event and 23 pints of blood were collected.
“American Legion Post 240 wishes to thank the efforts of Red Cross employees Victoria Tuck, Roger Low, and Vikki Minter. The Post would also like to thank Coordinator Melissa Belcher for her efforts in planning this event. Another thanks goes out to Jerry Jacobsen, Commander of the VFW Post in Daleville. The Red Cross crew was short one person and Jerry was kind enough to offer his services in checking in all prospective donors. A final thank you goes to all the wonderful people who stepped forward and donated a pint of blood for this worthy cause,” said Adjutant Joel Eig.
