North Carolina State University freshman Heath Andrews, a 2023 graduate of James River High School, is on the pitching staff for the Wolfpack in the NCAA Baseball World Series in Omaha, N.C. The ninth-seeded Wolfpack opened with a 5-4, 10-inning loss to second-seeded Kentucky in their opening game on Saturday. On Monday the Pack was eliminated from the tournament by another SEC school, Florida, by the same 5-4 score. Andrews, a true freshman, appeared in 10 games and started one for the Wolfpack during the regular season. He pitched 10 innings with six strikeouts and had a 0-1 won-loss record for a team that went 38-23 and earned a trip to the College World Series.
