William Fleming will be the site of the annual Cosmopolitan Club track meet this week. Middle school and high school Junior and Senior Divisions will be competing in the longest continuous running meet in the Roanoke Valley.

Middle school events will begin on Thursday. High school events will be held Friday and Saturday and running finals for all three divisions are scheduled for Saturday.

Lord Botetourt had athletes competing at the Penn Relays and the Distance Carnival in Charlotte last week. River ran in a Three Rivers District meet at Glenvar, then had several athletes compete in the Knights Track Classic at Cave Spring Saturday, although the team was limited as it was prom night at James River High School.

At Glenvar, Gavin Binns won both the 100 and 200 while Jack Beheler took second in the shot put. Braden Jones was third in the 1,600 and River’s 4×100 relay team also took third.

For the girls, Kaia Binns swept the 100 and 200 and Denver Rinehart was third in the 200. Janiya Falls won the shot put and Samaya Osborne took second. River’s 4×100 relay team was third.
