Aspiring writers and seasoned storytellers alike will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills this spring through a free virtual scriptwriting workshop offered by Attic Productions.
The course is designed for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of writing for stage or screen, organizers said. Participants will explore key elements that shape compelling scripts, including story structure, character development and world-building, as well as techniques for crafting impactful dialogue.
The workshop also will examine the differences between writing for live theater and film, giving attendees a broader understanding of how storytelling shifts across mediums.
“This is a great opportunity for people who have an idea but aren’t sure where to begin,” organizers noted. “It’s also valuable for experienced writers looking to refine their approach in a supportive, low-pressure environment.”
The course will be taught by Piper Gaul, an Attic Productions veteran who has performed and worked behind the scenes with the organization. Now based in Brooklyn, Gaul holds bachelor’s degrees in theatre and creative writing from Florida State University and a master’s degree in screenwriting from London Film School.
Her work has earned international recognition across multiple genres, including thriller, comedy and science fiction.
Because the workshop will be held online, organizers say it offers a flexible and accessible way for community members to engage creatively from home.
Interested participants are encouraged to register in advance by completing an online form prior to the start of the course. Additional information about the instructor and her work is available on her website.
Course access information can be found through Attic Productions’ official channels. The registration form can be found at https://lnkd.in/eKDbrMAY.
