Solomon’s Mission on Lowe Street in Buchanan will hold its annual Back-to-School Day on Saturday, July 25 from 8 a.m-2 p.m. Organizers ask that all wear masks other than while eating.
Children must be present to receive free school supplies, clothing, shoes, etc. Hot dogs will be available all day. Twenty-five people at a time will be admitted, with 30-minute stations. There will be a dunking booth and games outside.
The Thrift Store will be closed to be public to allow the school children to shop with less congestion in the store.
Still needed are book bags, one subject notebooks, glue sticks, wide loose-leaf notebook paper, small hand sanitizers, deodorant and toothpaste. Those who want to contribute may drop off the items while the facility is open – Monday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information, call 520-0043.
