Bank of Botetourt has dedicated a $3,000 gift from the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education toward the Mountain Gateway Community College (formerly Dabney S. Lancaster Community College) Student Success Fund, it was announced recently by MGCC Educational Foundation Executive Director Joe Hagy.
Bank of Botetourt was honored recently as the college’s “Philanthropist of the Year,” and each college is receiving the monetary award to recognize each philanthropy leader with a fund in their name to support student success.
The “2022 Bank of Botetourt Student Success Fund” will be used to help stock the MGCC Cubby Closet, a food pantry on campus that helps fight food insecurity.
