Bank of Botetourt was honored recently as Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s “Philanthropist of the Year” at the annual Leadership in Philanthropy Luncheon hosted by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education (VFCCE) in Richmond. From left: Joe Hagy, Executive Director of the DSLCC Educational Foundation; John Stone, 1st Vice President of the DSLCC Educational Foundation; DSLCC President Dr. John Rainone; Seth Moore, Associate Vice President and Business Relationship Officer with the Bank of Botetourt; Michelle Austin, COO and CFO, Bank of Botetourt; P. Duaine Fitzgerald, a Bank of Botetourt retiree and former DSLCC Board member; and Laurie Milligan, COO, VBA Benefits Corporation. Also, Austin is a past president of the DSLCC Educational Foundation and Moore is a DSLCC graduate. “Bank of Botetourt was selected for their leadership and partnership with the college,” said Hagy. “Their support, as well as all of our donors, help us fulfill our open-access educational mission and help strengthen our local economy.” Austin commented, “Bank of Botetourt is honored to be this year’s nominee for the Chancellor’s Award.
