BCPS recognizes February employees of the month, student athletes

Botetourt County Public Schools (BCPS) employees of the month for February were announced by the School Board at the beginning of March’s regular meeting in Fincastle. The two employees recognized were Connie Woodson, administrative assistant at Central Academy Middle School, and welding instructor Troy Linkenhoker at Botetourt Technical Education Center.

Four student athletes representing James River High School were also recognized for their achievements in winter sports. The students acknowledged during the meeting were James River students Xaiden Wynn (Wrestling State Champion, 2024 VHSL Class 2, 106 lb. Weight Class), Brayden Forbes (Wrestling First Team All-State, 2024 VHSL Class 2, 120 lb. Weight Class), Nathan Stewart (Wrestling First Team All-State, 2024 VHSL Class 2, 106 lb. Weight Class), and Nevaeh Van Buren (All-State Indoor Track Team, VHSL Class 2, Triple Jump).
