Botetourt County Public Schools held its first-ever Teacher of the Year Banquet at The Hotel Roanoke on Thursday, April 28. During the event, central office administration individually recognized the teachers of the year from each school. These individuals were also recognized by the Botetourt County School Board at the May 12 board meeting:

Cloverdale: Kathy Firestone
Read Mountain: Angela Myers
Colonial: Khymberli Spikes
Botetourt Technical: Whitney Witt
Eagle Rock: Amy Warren
James River: Elizabeth Foster
Greenfield: Katie Kurz
Lord Botetourt: Kendel Lively
In a special presentation, Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Russ announced the division teacher of the year. Angela Myers, the librarian at Read Mountain Middle School, is the first teacher to represent Botetourt County in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Mary V. Bicouvaris Teacher of the Year recognition program.
