Roanoke Valley Bird Club’s main fundraiser, “Seeds for a Song,” is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, at the Northwest Ace Hardware store in Hollins (7650 Williamson Road) from 10am to 1pm. RVBC sells fresh seed containing little or no waste at reasonable prices. It’s best o pre-order, but there will be a small supply of extra seed at the sale.
Again this year is the availability to order online at roanokevalleybirdclub.com using a Paypal account or credit card with Paypal. You may also print out an order form from the website and mail it in. All orders must be placed by October 15. If you cannot pick up your order during the sale on November 2, you must make arrangements for someone else to pick it up that day.
Buying even one small bag of seed to helps support the club’s worthwhile community projects. Refreshments will be served at the sale. Bird houses and gently used bird feeders will also be available for purchase and experienced birders will be on hand to answer questions.
RVBC is celebrating 62 years of birding in the Roanoke Valley and offers monthly meetings with interesting topics, field trips and activities.
They will be at Roanoke’s GO Outside Festival on October 18-19. In addition to birdseed order information, a membership application is available on the club’s website.
