Recent severe winter weather across the country has forced many blood drive cancellations. This, along with the pandemic, is causing lifesaving blood donations to go uncollected and have left people in need.
But good news –spots are still open for the blood drive at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 13. And, St. Mark’s UMC is adding another blood drive between noon and 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 8.
The Saturday, May 8 blood drive is now open on the Red Cross website. Sign up now to get the time that best suits you. If your plans change, it’s easy to adjust the schedule by calling the Red Cross or calling St. Mark’s UMC coordinators Don and Susan Ditzler at 977-2675.
Make sure to eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of water before coming to the blood drive and bring your mask and a picture ID.
Other upcoming blood drives at St. Mark’s are scheduled for July 3, September 11 and November 6.
Call 1-855-210-1278, visit customercare@RedCross.org or RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to schedule an appointment. Use RapidPass if you want to shave about 20 minutes at the donation site.
St. Mark’s UMC is located at 19 Cedar Ridge Drive, Daleville, across Cedar Ridge Drive from VelocityCare and across the street from Kroger.
