There will be no Blue Ridge District tournaments this year. The tournaments were scheduled for this week, but rain forced them to a one-day format, then more rain came and eliminated championship games that were scheduled for this Friday. So, regular season champs will be declared Blue Ridge District spring champions after all the makeup games are completed this week.

Botetourt’s schedule at the end of last week was wiped out by rain, and the Cavaliers could not make up games on Monday as it was graduation day for LB seniors. Games were scheduled for Tuesday against Northside in baseball, softball and soccer and today the softball team is at Cave Spring while both tennis teams play Northside, with the boys at home and the girls at Walrond Park.

On Thursday the tennis teams play Franklin County, with the girls at home and the boys in Rocky Mount. Three 7 p.m. varsity games are scheduled for Thursday with the softball and boys soccer teams at home against Franklin County and the LB girls soccer team headed to Rocky Mount to meet the Eagles. On Friday the baseball team is at Franklin County at 7 p.m.

Region 3D tournaments begin next week, tentatively scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 28.
