The Botetourt County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an appropriation of $1,817,488 to the school division during a public hearing at the board meeting last Tuesday in Daleville.
According the meeting agenda, Botetourt County Public Schools (BCPS) Finance Director Brandon Lee previously contacted County Finance Director Tony Zerilla on Dec. 1 about an “impending receipt of state funds that were approved late in the FY24 state budget cycle” after both county and school budgets were adopted. The total amount to be received by the school division totals $1,817,488 and will be comprised of $632,245 to be appropriated to the School Division Operating Fund and $1,185,245 specifically used for the All-In-Virginia Initiative. The latter appropriation will be tracked using the school’s self-sustaining account.
