Botetourt 8U team reaches Sandlot Super Bowl semifinals

The Botetourt (Dix) 8U sandlot football team defeated Salem last Saturday at Northside High’s Jim Hickam Field to reach this Saturday’s semifinals. Botetourt will play Glenvar at 9 a.m. at Bogle Stadium behind Cave Spring Middle School with the winner advancing to the Sandlot Super Bowl championship game on Nov. 1 at Salem Stadium.

The other 8U semifinal will be played at Northside this Saturday and that will match Franklin County against Hidden Valley. Hidden Valley eliminated the Botetourt (Edmunds) team last Saturday.

In the 10U division, Botetourt (Phillips) was eliminated by Hidden Valley last Saturday. Hidden Valley will meet Cave Spring in the semis while Salem and Glenvar play in other semifinal, both at Bogle Field.

In the 12U division, Botetourt (Bland) played at Glenvar last Saturday in the quarterfinals and was eliminated by Cave Spring. Semifinals this Saturday, both at Northside, will match Cave Spring against Salem in one game and Franklin County against the other Cave Spring team.

All three championship games are at Salem Stadium Nov. 1.
