The Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce recognized National Nurses Week (May 6-12) by asking its members and the community for monetary donations. A total of $1,775 dollars was raised throughout the week.

With the money, the chamber purchased gift cards from local restaurants and distributed them to nurses that are employed at local facilities.

Nurses at the Christian Free Clinic in Botetourt, At Home Caregivers, Carrington Cottage Memory Care, The Brian Center, and The Glebe received gift cards.

The following businesses donated to the effort: Apex Clean Energy, Bank of Botetourt, Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, F.A. Wagner Insurance Agency Inc., State Farm Insurance-Brent Hershey, Sunshine Services, LLC, The Bank of Fincastle, Titan America/Roanoke Cement, Wiegandt & Doubles, Attorneys at Law, and Winter’s Storage.
