The Roanoke Valley Wrestling Association will induct five members into the Roanoke Valley Wrestling Hall of Fame on Monday, May 5, including two with strong ties to Botetourt County. The Class of ’25 includes Chance Craft, Bobby Stewart, Jimmy King, Stacy Menefee and Steven Menefee.
Craft is one of the all-time best wrestlers to come out of James River High. He was a three-time state champ, a two-time region champ and a three-time district champ. He’s been a wrestling official for the past 12 years.
Stewart was a four-year starter at Lord Botetourt, then went on to The Citadel where he was a four-time place winner in the Southern Conference Championships. He’s currently the head coach at James River.
King wrestled at Cave Spring and is the coach at Hidden Valley Middle School. Stacy and Steven Menefee were outstanding wrestlers at Franklin County High School.
In addition to inducting five new Hall of Famers the RVWA will announce winners of awards and scholarships, including Wrestler of the Year and Coach of the Year.
