The Capital Almanac is an advertising magazine that was seasonally published in Washington, D.C. by J.S. McIntyre. This little girl with spring flowers was printed on the chromolithographic cover in 1890. On the back, Fincastle merchant K.B. Stoner has his advertisement. There are 40 pages inside which have beautiful wooden engraved pictures advertising tinware, groceries, hardware and necessities. The Capital Almanac was donated to the free Botetourt County Museum in 2009 by Marcia Jones Holtzman, who inherited it from Loretta Price.
