Cushing Wood donated this pen and ink drawing to the Botetourt County Museum when it opened in 1965. It is a drawing of the 1848 Botetourt County Courthouse before it burned on December 15, 1970. Being a necessity for court proceedings, it was rebuilt for $743,377. Governor Mills E. Godwin Jr. made the dedication address on June 14, 1975, when the courthouse reopened. A room in the museum is dedicated to the history of the Botetourt County Courthouse.
