This is an ornate hearth brush trimmed in brass and a three-legged black iron pot with a handle. Cooking and cleaning were important tasks during the Colonial period and today. Both of these were donated by the General James Breckinridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1966. They are in the Breckinridge Law Office of the Botetourt County Museum which is one of the oldest buildings in Fincastle. It was later added onto and served many purposes before becoming a museum.
