This watercolor painting is by Allen Ingles Palmer (1910-1950). It was donated to the Botetourt County Historical Museum in 2006 by the Foundation for the Roanoke Valley. The image shows the Fincastle Presbyterian Church which originated in 1771 as the Anglican Church of England in the new county. There is a watercolor of a hunter on the other side of the paper. Palmer tragically was killed at 39 in his single engine plane less than a mile from his Roanoke home.
