This is a handmade wagon seat. The original old split bottom was replaced by a beautiful woven cane weave. It belonged to William R. Rieley, who was the great-grandfather of the donors. This seat was used in the home and then fastened by chain onto a jersey or carriage when needed to go to town or church. Betty Clara and P.A. Firebaugh donated this bench to the Botetourt County Museum and it can be seen upstairs in the Pioneer Room.
