This antique wooden mantle clock has come back to its original historic home that is now the Botetourt Museum of History & Culture in Fincastle. It was donated this year by The Honorable Robert C. Hagen, Jr., who used it in his law office before the Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc. was able to purchase the property from him.
Before that, Sam and Janelle Wilson owned the 1870 home. They prominently displayed this clock on the mantle in the front parlor.
The columns are painted to look like ebony, the clock face is painted and the workings are made of wood. A formal fox hunting print shows a gentleman in a top hat and a lady riding sidesaddle. It still keeps time with the key to wind it properly.
