Nicholas Betts, Democratic Party candidate for the 6th Congressional District, addressed an enthusiastic crowd that gathered on Sunday, Oct. 11 at Virginia Mountain Winery. In spite of the downpour, the well-attended gathering was held under a tent. Other speakers addressing the attendees were Senator John Edwards and Delegate Sam Rasoul of Roanoke’s 11th District, who formerly lived in Botetourt. An oil painting by local artist Helen Hubler was awarded as a door prize.
