Early registration dates for Botetourt County’s fall 2025 youth sports were announced last week. Soccer, cheerleading, flag football, and tackle football registration begins June 1 and goes through June 15. The county notes that all registration prices are discounted during early registration. Additionally, the county will offer a brand new all-girls soccer league for 6- and 7-year-olds this fall along with the traditional coed soccer league. Parents now have the option to enroll daughters in either league. This new league reflects the county’s ongoing commitment to providing inclusive and enriching opportunities for all players.

Standard registration for these sports is June 16 through June 30 with extended registration from July 1 through July 15. All athletes are required to be age verified before registration. Any athletes may move up to the next age group as long as they are no more than one year younger than the minimum age for that group.

Age verification only needs to occur once in the child’s youth sports career in Botetourt. Acceptable documentation to verify age include a birth certificate, child identification card issued by the DMV, or a passport. CivicRec will not allow you to register a child for any Botetourt County youth athletics programs until the age of the participant is verified.

Approved documents can be verified at the Botetourt County Parks & Recreation Office located at 16 E. Main Street in Fincastle or at any Botetourt County Library branch before June 30—this method through a library takes 7-10 business days to reach the Parks & Rec office.

For more information, visit www.botetourtva.gov/345/Youth-Athletics or call 540-928-2130.
