Last Saturday, the Botetourt Farmers Market presented its final market of 2021. The Christmas Market saw around 1,600 people visiting local vendors offering Christmas-themed wares.
Christmas music filled the air as patrons shared well wishes with the community and local vendors.
“The Botetourt Farmers Market is overwhelmed with the support of the 2021 Christmas and Thanksgiving Holiday markets,” Market Manager Scott Harwin stated. “Both markets set records of single day sales and despite cold and rainy weather thousands shop local for their holiday meals and Christmas presents. We are so grateful to be a part of a community that is passionate about supporting local farmers, bakers, and artisans.”
Botetourt County Libraries and Parks & Rec had a booth on site at the Christmas market. They provided activities for kids including Letters to Santa, Reindeer Food kits, Hot Chocolate, and Story time.
The Christmas Market drew over $20,000 in total sales and broke the market’s single year record by surpassing $200,000 in sales.
