After being quarantined since January 2, the Lord Botetourt girls basketball team is hoping to open the season this week. The girls were scheduled to host Parry McCluer on Tuesday, Giles tonight and then head to Alleghany for a Saturday night game.

“We have been utilizing a team Google classroom to go over plays and philosophies so that we can hit the ground running,” said LB coach Renee Favaro. “My biggest concern to having one practice with everyone there and then playing is our lack of flow, and overall chemistry with each other on the court. We have seven new members to the varsity team, so the floor connection is what we really need the most. There are many components to understanding what we do on varsity that we as coaches are having to skip over for the sake of time.

“This season will be a lot of learning and adjusting on the fly. This is a good group of kids and I know they are excited to just get out there again.”
