The Lord Botetourt girls remained undefeated in soccer with a win over William Byrd in a Blue Ridge District match in Daleville last week. The Cavs shut out the Terriers, 2-0.
Hallie Catron broke the scoreless tie with the first goal of the night, assisted by Sara Bane. Catron then assisted Hannah Bane on the second goal to give LB some breathing room against the pesky Byrd girls.
The win, along with a forfeit victory over William Fleming last Friday, gave LB a 14-0 record on the season and the Cavaliers were scheduled to play Byrd again on Tuesday of this week, this time at Vinyard Park in Vinton. The girls will wrap up the regular season Friday at home against Staunton River.
“The girls have played very well,” said coach Giuseppe D’Arpa. “They have improved so much since last season. Speed of play and strength were factors that we really focused on, and this is very talented group of girls.”
