James River has basketball camp for kids
James River High School boys basketball coach Ethan Humphries and staff conducted the third annual youth camp on June 4-7. The camp has grown each year with future Knights hoopsters.
“We increased camp participation from 28 last year to 58 this year,” said Humphries. “We were lucky enough to have our four college players come back and work our camp: Jayson and Corey Easton, Patrick Clevenger, and Ryan Steger.
“The kids had a great time learning fundamentals of the game and getting some quality court time with school out for the summer.
“We couldn’t have had more fun and a better turnout,” said Humphries. “The kids were great all week and we hope we gave them an experience to remember and learn from.
“We hope it’s something the kids look forward to every year. We are grateful for the alumni and our players that helped run a smooth camp. Each year we try to build it to be bigger and better and I think we accomplished that this summer.”
