To celebrate Women’s History Month in March, a nurse’s uniform is featured at the Botetourt County Museum. It is part of the new medical exhibit and was donated by the Campbell family. The uniform is from the mid 1900s and was worn by Jane Ardel Key Campbell, R.N. She was the wife of Dr. Louis C. Campbell, pharmacist at the Fincastle Pharmacy. Mrs. Campbell worked at Roanoke Memorial Hospital while raising her family. Nurses have provided exceptional care to soldiers, patients and their families for generations.
