The Botetourt Farmers Market and Botetourt Beekeepers Association held the 2021 Botetourt Honey Fest in Daleville last Saturday.
Agriculture and food vendors lined up their tents, welcoming visitors to peruse Botetourt County’s finest eats, flowers, crafts, and décor. Some vendors featured products related to or contain honey. Some vendors also sold out of their products by 11 a.m.
The honey tasting featured honey from beekeepers in G-Bees in Glenvar, Mountain Thyme in Troutville, Beaver Dam Bees in Buchanan, and Wolfe Apiaries in Troutville. One of the tasting features was “hot honey”—a sweet and spicy that is smooth and balances well against the sweetness of honey.
Music was provided by Better Than We Sound—an acoustic string band strumming folk and country tunes.
Roanoke Master Gardeners and Naturalists handed out native seeds and informed people about the importance of pollinators.

On October 16, the market’s visitors are welcome to bring along their four-legged friends as the Botetourt Farmers Market presents a “Dog Day” for Botetourt’s finest canines.
