Botetourt track teams run at William Fleming today

The Lord Botetourt track team will be in Roanoke today for a meet after opening the season last week in Moneta. Botetourt competed in a four-team meet at Staunton River with William Byrd, Franklin County and the host Eagles.

The Botetourt boys won their meet with 65.5 points to 61 for second place Franklin County. Staunton River had 54.5 and Byrd had 45 points.

In the girls meet, Byrd finished on top with 70, followed by Franklin County at 59. Staunton River had 45 and LB had 31.

Dylan Knick had three first places for LB, winning the 110 and 300 hurdles and the triple jump. He took second in the long jump and was a member of the winning 4×100 relay team along with Trenton Ruble, Daylon Compton and Jacob Hodnett.

Hodnett finished first in the 200 meters and second in the 400. Zion Woody took a second in the 100 meters and Evan Gates was second in the 1,600.

For the girls, the 4×100 meter relay team of Alexa Carillo, Zoe Brown, Sydney Parr and Nicole Paquette took first place. Seconds went to Brown in the 100, Parr in the high jump and Lauren Duff was runner-up in both the 400- and 800-meter runs.
