Botetourt track teams set personal bests in Region 3A West meet at Liberty U.

Lord Botetourt’s Reyna Petry hands off to anchor leg Heather Finley in the 4×200 m relay at the 3A West Region Championship. The team placed 11th overall with a time of 1:59.46.

Lord Botetourt teammates Shawn DiRocco (276), Caleb Beckner (270), and Alex Hawkins race together in the 3200 m event at the 3A West Region Championships.

The Lord Botetourt Indoor Track Teams competed in the Region 3A West Meet last weekend at Liberty University. The team set many new personal records and had several athletes place in the top 10.

Top 10 finishes included Libby Keely-9th in the Girls 3200; Benny Ford-8th in the Boys 500; Connor Hayes-9th in the Boys 1000; Emily D’Arpa-10th in the Girls 1000, and the Boys 4×800 Relay team of Connor Hayes, Bryton Dalglish, Cameron Turney, and Benny Ford finished 8th.

Lord Botetourt’s Connor Hayes runs for the Cavaliers 4×800 team. Hayes and teammates Benny Ford, Cameron Turney, and Bryton Dalglish placed 8th overall with a time of 8:56.31.

Team winners in the meet were the Blacksburg boys and the Western Albemarle girls. The state meets will be held at Roanoke College this week, with the Group 1A and 2A meets on Wednesday and Thursday and the Group 3A and 4A meets on Friday and Saturday.
