Breckinridge Elementary celebrated Veterans Day on November 10 with an assembly to honor all veterans with family members at the school. At the assembly, attendees enjoyed listening to second, fourth, and fifth grade students sing a variety of patriotic songs, and were recognized for their service. School counselor and United States Marine Corps veteran Ashley Albright also spoke about her experience in the Marines, and how it has shaped who she is today. Participants concluded the event with a reception and thank you cards made by younger students. Additional cards were delivered to veterans living at The Glebe Retirement Community and the Salem Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and veterans who work at Lawrence Transportation.
