Students at Breckinridge Elementary School were met with an unexpected surprise Thursday morning as teachers and staff embraced 6-7 Day by arriving in themed attire. The celebration, designed to add excitement to the school week and support number recognition activities, brought big smiles across grade levels.

Third-grade teachers Ashby Dunbar and Amanda Schulz (top photo) joined in the fun, greeting their classes while dressed for the occasion and ready to unveil the day’s surprise. Their enthusiasm set the tone for a spirited morning of learning.

In the kindergarten hallway, student Yinka Adeji (right photo) was welcomed by instructional assistants Faith Parrish and Yaz Lopez, who appeared dressed as oversized dice representing the numbers six and seven. Their playful costumes quickly became a highlight for students passing by.

The festive display added a memorable touch to the school day and showcased the staff’s commitment to creating an engaging, joyful learning environment.

So, what is “6-7?” Nothing concrete. The term doesn’t have fixed meaning, but the kids love it— another thing society can add to the increasing list of generational memes thanks to the internet.
