Breckinridge Elementary students celebrated Read Across America with some fun activities the week of February 27 to March 3. On Monday, local author Maygan Nuckles visited to tell students about her new book “So You Think You Want to be a Superhero.” On Tuesday, the students “read a crime scene” and tried to figure out what happened to missing principal, Wyatt Turner. Wednesday, students brought in socks for a local shelter and wore silly socks, which was followed by a reading marathon and readers from the local Lions Club chapter on Thursday. The week finished with Jersey Day as students and faculty welcomed readers from James River and Lord Botetourt.
