Altec Industries in Daleville hosted their first annual Weld Off Competition on Saturday, May 4 at Botetourt Technical Education Center’s welding facility. This competition was for high school seniors around the valley to compete for prizes and consideration for employment opportunities. Fourteen students from Botetourt Technical Education Center, Jackson River Technical Center, Salem High School and Floyd County High School welding programs/classes participated to show their skill. Winners were (from left): Cameron Crush from Botetourt Technical, first place; Ryan Whiting, Jackson River Technical, second; and Jarrett Williams, Floyd County High, third.
