The Town of Buchanan is accepting applications to be a vendor during the town’s eighth annual Buchanan Garden Festival scheduled for Saturday, April 9. Buchanan Arbor Day
Save the Date of Friday, April 8 for Buchanan’s annual Arbor DayCelebration as the town plants the seeds of tomorrow during the Tree Planting Ceremony at 11 a.m. on the Buchanan Town Park at 485 Lowe Street. If you would like to make a donation to the town’s Arbor Day Fund, call the Town of Buchanan at 540-254-1212.
4th Wednesday’s Farmer’s Market
The public is invited to come to the Botetourt Resource Center parking lot at 33 Bedford Street to take advantage of the monthly Farmer’s Market set up this Wednesday, March 23 from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Take advantage of this opportunity to purchase products from local growers including meat, cheeses, breads and vegetables.
Volunteer for 2022 Events
Be part of the fun for 2022. The Buchanan Calendar of Events is looking for some volunteers, needed just a couple hours of time once or twice this year to put on events. Attend one meeting at the Buchanan Town Hall, at 7 p.m. March 24 to learn about the volunteer opportunities. Light refreshments will be served as organizers go over the list of events, festivals, parades, concerts and carnival. Event volunteers are needed for small segments of two or three hours for an event. For example, people are needed to help with stuffing eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt, checking IDs at the Reggae by the River, judges for parades, manning an entry gate during concerts, helping with a children’s activity during Reggae by the River and Mountain Magic– the opportunities are endless.
