Buchanan transitions from summer to fall this Friday, Sept. 15 with the final Third Fridays Block Party of the season.

The evening’s activities begin 5:30 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m. and include antique autos along Main Street, a free concert featuring The Floorboards sponsored by Bank of Botetourt, beer garden, a Kids’ Wall and more.

Visitors can take advantage of the Community Market where local civic groups and vendors will be offering petros and kettle corn. Several businesses will have extended hours as well.

The Floorboards is an Appalachian roots rock ensemble that marries rock and roll and country roots with the sights and sounds of southern mountain towns.

The group consists of Matt Browning on vocals and guitar, Jake Dempsey on bass and vocals, Chris Blankenship on lead guitar and Rob Vaughan on drums and percussion.

In addition to playing a number of local venues, they also regularly travel up and down the I-81 and I-95 corridors from New York to Alabama playing a variety of bars and music festivals.
