With time running out in the regular season the Lord Botetourt softball team has a busy week. The Cavaliers will play four games in a row, all at home, to close out the regular season.
The Cavs were scheduled to play at home against Cave Spring on Monday, but that game was rained out and moved to today, Wednesday. LB was scheduled to host William Fleming Tuesday and LB has two more home games with William Byrd Thursday and Northside Friday.
LB comes into the week with a 9-7 overall record and a 5-2 district record, trailing only 7-1 Staunton River in the BRD standings. The Blue Ridge District tournament is tentatively scheduled to begin Tuesday.
Last Friday in Vinton the Cavaliers defeated William Byrd, 5-4. The game was 2-2 after one inning but Byrd took a 4-2 lead in the fourth. Botetourt used a big sixth inning to come from behind and pull out the win.
Mikayla Reed and Callie Kidd each collected two hits and had an RBI. Autumn Russell had two RBIs in the game and Maya Mougin also had an RBI.
