Central Academy Middle School’s administration, faculty, and staff have recognized the following eighth graders for their National Junior Honor Society’s Outstanding Achievement Award: Sara McFadyen, Alise Orent, Annabelle Peay, Ethan Spickard, Paul Theimer, and Drew Whitson. This is a national award and gives each recipient a $500 college scholarship.
Each year Central Academy Middle School recognizes one female student-athlete and one male student-athlete who has competed in two sports during both their seventh and eighth grades years, while still maintaining high academic success in the classroom. These recipients showcase their leadership abilities on and off the field. The 2020 Ms. Patriot award winner is Annabelle Peay. The 2020 Mr. Patriot award winner is Zeal Hammons. Each winner will receive an engraved plaque and their name will be added to the school’s Wall of Fame.
Central Academy bestows a special award each year, to an eighth grader, in memory of Bertha Anne Williamson, a former educator at the school. The name of this award is The Golden Heart Award. This award exemplifies kindness, compassion, and a willingness to help others in need. These timeless qualities were so admired in Ms. Williamson and will continue to be her legacy to Central Academy. This distinguished recognition for the 2020 school year is awarded to Paul Theimer. Theimer will receive an engraved clock and an American Citizenship Pin.
