The 2020 season for the Catawba Valley Farmers Market (CVFM) will come to an end on October 15. Vendors are still bringing some late summer produce to the market, with a wide array of fall produce and fruits during the remaining three weeks of the market. Local beef, bacon, sausage, honey and an extensive selection of baked goods will also be featured. Folks looking for decorative fall items will find colorful pansies, several colors of mums, small and large pumpkins, gourds, and concrete leaves and planters for the garden.
The CVFM will not hold the annual Holiday Market in November due to restrictions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to provide a means for some of the Holiday Market vendors to present their artisan crafts to the public, CVFM will host additional artisans each of the remaining market days – October 1, 8 and 15. Information on the artisans appearing each week, and descriptions of their wares, may be found on the CVFM website and Facebook page.
The CVFM website (catawbafarmersmarket.com) includes photos of items available each week, along with photos from the market, information on the vendors, a copy of the weekly e-newsletter and contact information. A new feature is a Recipe Page, with most recipes contributed by vendors and including ingredients found at the market.
The market’s Facebook page includes frequent announcements on scheduled vendors, special products and last-minute changes in vendors and products.
The CVFM is held each Thursday from 3-6:30 pm at the Catawba Community Center picnic shelter, 4965 Catawba Creek Road (Route 779) in Catawba, rain or shine. The market area is handicap accessible, with free parking.
