The Lord Botetourt boys soccer team bounced back from a 6-1 loss to Salem in Daleville last Thursday to beat Franklin County on Friday, 4-0, in Rocky Mount.
It didn’t take long for the Cavaliers to get started, as Josh Dickerson was able to find Jeremy Simmons for a header and he placed it to the back post to give LB the 1-0 lead early.
Franklin County was called for a hand ball in the box late in the first half and Robbie Sanchez stepped up to the PK line and knocked it in to give the Cavaliers a 2-0 lead at the half.
In the second half the Cavaliers kept fighting. Will Hall took the ball down the left side of the field beating multiple defenders. He fought on the end line to get the ball to Isaac Alderman, where he beat the keeper to extend the lead to 3-0. LB finished things off with a corner from Robbie Sanchez to find Will Hall on a header and give the Cavaliers a 4-0 win.
With the win the Cavaliers improved to 5-5 overall and also evened their record in the district at 2-2. The Cavs are at Christiansburg tonight and at Staunton River Friday.
