The Lord Botetourt girls swim team defeated Salem, Northside, and Glenvar last week at the Salem YMCA while the boys outscored Glenvar and Northside.
Scoring for the girls were Miranda Kirtley, Hannah Dillon, Madelynn Sprouse, Kate Ryan, Keeley McNamara, Katie Cross, Sophie Rakes, and Hattie Butler. Swimming best times were Dillon in the 200 freestyle, Butler in the 100 fly, Sydney Vokus in 100 free, Emily Hanson in 100 free, Cross and Taylor Lisle in 500 free and Kirtley in 100 backstroke.
Scoring for the boys’ team were James Lively, Cooper Dehr, Griffin Davidson, Jacob Hodbett, Aiden Jones, Andres Hernandez, Evan Poff, and Jesse Knight. Swimming personal bests were Jones in the 50 free, Lively in the 100 fly, and Hernandez in the 500 free.
Also last week, on Thursday, both teams defeated Alleghany at the Botetourt YMCA. Scoring for the boys were Jesse Knight, Andres Hernandez, Aiden Jones, Evan Poff, Cooper Dehr, Griffin Davidson, James Lively, and Jacob Hodnett.
Scoring for the girls were Miranda Kirtley, Madelynn Sprouse, Sophie Rakes, Kate Ryan, Hattie Butler, Taylor Lisle, Keeley McNamara, Sidney Saunders, Isabelle Fletcher, Maureen Hickey, and Hannah Dillon.
This week the Cavs are swimming Hidden Valley on Friday at the Gator pool.
