The Lord Botetourt baseball team comes into the week tied for first place in the Blue Ridge District. LB and Franklin County were both 2-0 prior to Tuesday’s games, with LB scheduled to host a winless William Fleming team Tuesday while Franklin County was scheduled to host 2-1 William Byrd.
The Cavaliers picked up two wins last week. On Tuesday they played host to Staunton River and took a 7-1 win as Caleb O’Quinn pitched a seven-inning complete game one-hitter. He struck out 10, walked two and allowed one unearned run. Nolan Medley was three-for-four with a triple and three runs batted in and Cody McConnaughey and Brayden Wells had two hits each.
A day later they traveled to Brookville and picked up a 9-6 win over the Bees. Medley pitched the first four innings and got the win, while Ethan Deschambault pitched last three for a save.
Medley was the hot hitter again, going three-for-five with a double. Wells had two hits and two RBIs and Noah Donaho tripled and walked three times.
Now 4-2 overall, the Cavaliers will host Hidden Valley today in a non-district game, then play another home game against Northside Friday.
