The Lord Botetourt boys basketball team will open Blue Ridge District play on Thursday night as they travel for the “four-five” game.

LB finished in fifth place in the district and they’ll have to go to either William Byrd or Staunton River to open the tournament on Thursday. The winner of Thursday’s game will play Friday night at Lord Botetourt as the boys’ semifinals and finals are in Daleville next Tuesday. Friday games are at 6 and 7:45 p.m.

Northside comes in as the top seed. The Vikings are still undefeated coming into the week, and they beat Lord Botetourt at Northside last Friday, 78-54. Jacob Chandler led the Cavaliers with 15 points, hitting five of eight from beyond the three-point line. Max Burke had 15 points and Evan Eller had 11 points and seven assists.

“We did a lot of really good things,” said LB coach Chad Conner. “I thought we played pretty well against a very good team.”

The loss dropped LB to 2-18. The Cavs were scheduled to end the regular season on Tuesday with a home game against William Byrd.
