The All-Region 3D teams were recently announced and Lord Botetourt was represented in four spring sports. The Cavaliers had players make the baseball, softball and both boys and girls soccer teams.
LB had three girls named to the All-Region 3D soccer first team. Junior Emma Rice was first team at forward, sophomore Emma Ruhlman made first team defender and junior Autumn Estrada was first team “at large.”
Second team All-Region selections included seniors Lauren Uotinen, Nancy Maclachlan and Lyndsay Prillaman and sophomores Lily Mosely and Bria Harvey. William Byrd swept the top honors with Maddy Simmons as Player of the Year and Molly Cox as Coach of the Year.
In boys soccer, senior Cadyn Bowles was named to the second team at forward. Magna Vista’s Ian Betton was named Player of the Year and Warriors’ coach John Athey is the Coach of the Year.
In baseball, LB had four boys named to the second team. Junior Nolan Medley made it as a pitcher, junior Brayden Wells is the DH and seniors Noah Leonard and Jackson Smith both made second team all-region as “at large” selections. Trey Ludy of Cave Spring was named Player of the Year and Knights’ coach Ricky Lonker is the Coach of the Year.
In softball, junior Grace Thomas of LB was named to the second team as a pitcher and junior Riley Shupe made the second team in the outfield. Honorable Mention went to Autumn Russell, Mikayla Reed and Hadley Evans.
Cave Spring also swept the top region honors in softball. Tristyn Tofano was named Player of the Year and Nick Sharp is the Coach of the Year.
